REVIEW – Ever wanted a nice little light on your patio or your backyard picnic table? No power in those locations? No problem; the Haoyishu solar table lamp has you covered.
The HAOYISHU Solar Table Lamp is a battery-powered small table lamp, that can be charged from USB or solar.

The HAOYISHU Solar Table Lamp is a cute little light that is capable of quite a bit. It’s made of black ABS plastic, with a white ABS plastic shade area that contains 20 LED lamps. On top of the shade is a small 5V solar panel, that charges the 3.5V lithium-ion battery. The lamp features only two controls – a simple switch, that turns the lamp on and off and changes brightness, and a switch on the bottom that switches from interior to exterior mode.
So what are these modes? The interior mode functions like a normal light – fully controlled by the switch. Exterior mode functions like a dawn-to-dusk light and has a light sensor built in. It turns on when it gets dark, and turns off when the sun comes up (or when the battery dies). It’s waterproof so leaving it out in the weather is no worry, and you can charge it with a standard USB-C cable (included) for indoor or cloudy use.
The HAOYISHU Solar Table Lamp does everything it’s supposed to do. We put it on our patio table in “exterior” mode and just let it be. On the lowest setting, the lamp is supposed to last for 8 hours. In my testing, it lasted for at least 10. At the highest setting, it’s supposed to last for 2 hours. In my testing, it lasted for three. So already exceeding expectations. The light it produces is pleasant and diffuse. It’s a great light for ambiance, but it’s not going to light up a dark room on its own. We put it on our patio table in “exterior” mode and just let it be. It lit up at night, and charged during the day. The only issue was that the light came on well before it was dark enough to need the light, like an hour before dusk. It still had plenty of juice to last until morning on the lowest setting, but it seems that the light sensor could use a little tweaking. I did test the waterproofing by letting it sit out in a torrential rain storm, and all seemed fine. The USB port and switches have rubber covers that keep everything dry.
We also took the HAOYISHU Solar Table Lamp camping, and left it in “exterior” mode on the picnic table. It provided just a little light for the whole campsite all night, which was quite nice, especially when the kids had to go to the bathroom. And it charged right up the next day. There’s no battery or charge indicator, so you just have to hope it’s all charged, but I found that even on cloudy days, it was able to get a full charge.
If you’re looking for some pleasant outdoor lighting in a location without power, the Haoyishu Solar Table Lamp could be what you need. And it’s small enough to take with you on any of your adventures!
